Screening projects
COMAS is open to collaborations with any German academic research group under a formal collaboration agreement. In addition, Max Planck research group leaders are eligible to apply for dedicated screening funds. Up to five Max Planck projects per year may receive €50.000 each to support high-quality screening campaigns. Proposals can be handed in on a continuous basis and are being evaluated quarterly by our advisory board.
To ensure the generation of meaningful and reproducible screening data, projects are planned collaboratively from the start. Together, we define a tailored assay pipeline that includes a primary HTS-compatible assay and several secondary assays for validation, selectivity, and specificity profiling.
The development and optimization of an HTS-compatible assay can be a lengthy process. We support you with our experience about specialized HTS technologies. You are also welcome as a visiting scientist to learn about HTS-compatible assays and/ or to ensure faithful transfer of your assay to the COMAS labs. An assay can typically be transferred once a proof of principle has been accomplished in a multiwell plate (96- or 384-well).
